Who is Eligible?

Public and private entities that have completed or substantially implemented a clean diesel engine-related project in the Environmental Protection Agency’s Region IV states (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina) are eligible for nomination. Organizations can nominate their own projects or be nominated by others.

    The following describes public and private entities that are eligible nominees:

  • An entity must have controlling responsibility for the activities resulting in diesel emissions and seeking to reduce their impact;

  • The entity must be reducing their diesel emissions in at least one of the EPA Region 4 states (i.e., Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, North Carolina, and South Carolina);

  • An entity may nominate them-selves or be nominated by others;

  • The entity must have completed or substantially implemented one or more clean diesel related project(s)/program(s) during the 2009 and/or 2010 calendar years; and

  • An entity that previously won an Industry Leadership or Community Leadership award may not be nominated based on the same project(s)/program(s), but may be nominated for any new project(s)/program(s) that occurred after receiving their most recent SEDC Leadership Award.
