Leadership Council!

 

  • Purpose: The Southeast Diesel Collaborative (SEDC) Leadership Council was formed to recognize exemplary industry and community organizations who have demonstrated leadership in support of the SEDC goal to reduce diesel emissions. The Leadership Council is responsible for the annual SEDC Industry and Community Leadership awards.

  • Annual duties include: develop/refine the award criteria; solicit industry and community nominations; review and score nominations; select award winners for industry and community categories; assist in the award presentation process as required.

  • Selection of Leadership Council members is completed by the SEDC Strategic Planning Committee. The Leadership Council memebers serve a 2 Year Term (eg. Summer 2010 to Summer 2012). Additionally, if someone from this committee is nominated, they will abstain from voting. Past Leadership Council members can be re-nominated.

  • EPA Region 4 oversees the Leadership Council to ensure the integrity of the annual award nomination and selection process. However, EPA Region 4 is a non-voting member during the nomination and selection process for the SEDC Leadership awards.

Nominees should be:

  • Represented by at least one person from each EPA Region 4 state

    Qualified through:

    • Involvement in the SEDC and associated activities.

    • Demonstrated support for the SEDC goal, service as a role model for others to follow, and effective collaboration and partnership with other SEDC partners and stakeholders.

Leadership Council Privileges Include:

  • Opportunity to meet with EPA Management and Decision Makers to discuss clean diesel focus areas, priorities and strategies.

  • Opportunity to meet with State Government Leadership.

  • Press coverage and recognition by their peers at SEDC events.

  • Spotlight features on the SEDC website.

  • Recognition letters to Council member’s management.
