Members of the Technology Committee are involved with tracking the development and implementation of various diesel emission reduction technologies.  Participation in the Technology Committee is open to all interested SEDC partners.   If you would like to join the Technology Committee, click here.

The Committee is currently working on the following Actions for FY 2008: 

– Education/Outreach
                  – Continue to monthly  calls with SEDC stakeholders to share experiences and discuss various technology.
          
  – Financial
                  – Work on Southeast State Infrastructure Banks as possible finding avenue to support strategies for truckers (NC, SC and TN currently have SIB programs)

– Operational/Implementation
      – Continue to provide technical support to current diesel projects in Region 4 and to assist with implementation complications as they arise.

– Policy/Incentives
      – Develop Information sheets on diesel emission reduction strategies, including state policies and incentives.

The SmartWay program has developed several innovative funding programs to enable truckers reduce the amount of fuel they use.
